Replace A Tooth.
Keep Your Options Clear.
A dental implant is a small post placed in the jawbone to support a replacement tooth. A connector and crown complete a single-tooth restoration. Some implants support bridges or dentures.
Clear aligners move teeth you already have. Dental implants replace teeth that are missing. If you need both, we plan their order together.
Many adults may be candidates, but an implant is not the right choice for every person or every tooth. An examination and appropriate imaging help us compare your options.
Could An Implant Be Right For You?
We look at bone support, gum health, available space and your bite—not just the gap in your smile. Your medical history, medications and habits also matter.
- Bring your medication list and relevant medical history.
- Tell us about smoking or nicotine use, grinding or clenching, and diabetes or other health conditions.
- Some patients need gum treatment, bone grafting or other preparation first.
Implants require surgery, healing and ongoing care. Risks include infection, failure to integrate with bone and injury to nearby structures. We review the risks and alternatives for your case; do not stop prescribed medication on your own.
When You Need Both
Often, Straighten First.
Then Replace.
A healed implant is fused to the jawbone and does not move with ordinary orthodontic forces the way a natural tooth does. If teeth need straightening or space needs adjusting, we often recommend completing that movement before placing the implant.
This helps plan room for the replacement tooth and the bite. Some cases need a different sequence. Dr. Stroh will explain the order that fits your mouth.
Your Implant Path
Three Stages. One Coordinated Plan.
Evaluate & Plan
Review your health, teeth and bone. Plan any alignment, extraction or grafting that may be needed.
Place & Heal
The implant is placed, then allowed to integrate with bone. Timing and temporary-tooth options vary.
Restore & Maintain
Fit the final replacement tooth and review cleaning, bite protection and follow-up care. Treatment often takes months.
Implant, Bridge Or Removable Tooth?
The best choice depends on your health, adjacent teeth, budget and preferences.
| Option | How It Works | Main Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Implant + Crown | Anchors a replacement tooth in the jawbone. | Usually avoids reshaping neighboring teeth, but requires surgery, healing and maintenance. |
| Traditional Bridge | Uses adjacent teeth to support a fixed replacement. | Usually requires irreversible reshaping of supporting teeth. It may make sense when those teeth already need crowns. |
| Partial Or Flipper | A removable appliance replaces one or more teeth. | Must be removed for cleaning and as directed. A flipper is commonly a temporary option; fit and chewing function differ. |
Insurance & Membership
A Clear Estimate. A Personal Plan.
Your total fee depends on the treatment you need. Your out-of-pocket cost also depends on your specific insurance benefits, exclusions and annual limits. We review your plan and estimated patient portion before treatment.
Our membership plan can lower fees for eligible treatment. Ask which implant or aligner services qualify and whether membership or insurance benefits apply to your situation; discounts are not automatically combined. Membership is not insurance.
Implant Questions, Answered.
Can I have an implant if I take medication?
Possibly. Medication does not automatically rule out an implant. We review the specific drug, why you take it, your health and any precautions with your medical clinician when needed.
Can clear aligners move an existing implant?
Ordinary aligner treatment does not move a healed, integrated implant. Natural teeth around it may still be moved in an appropriate plan. Tell us about existing implants before starting treatment.
Does insurance cover dental implants?
Coverage is plan-specific and may treat the implant, connector and crown differently. We help review benefits and estimate costs. An insurance estimate is not a guarantee of payment.
